HOME

This website provides background information on the flooding process of Marshalls Creek, and shows the changes on the floodplain that have influenced flooding from 1947 (see map above) to the current day (see Community Education page).

We hope this will help the community to focus on strategies that may reduce flooding and to provide commentary on 'pros and cons' of the various strategies that have been raised by the community (see Potential Flood Mitigation Strategies page).

COMMUNITY CONTACT & FEEDBACK:
We invite respectful and objective commentary on the information presented through our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MarshallsCreekFloodplain. We expect that this website will evolve over time as more information is gathered and additional commentary is provided.

CONTRIBUTORS:
Much of the material presented has been supplied by Robert Crossley, a Natural Resources Scientist, and a New Brighton resident. He does not profess to have all the answers, but has collated a lot of information over the last 20 years from a range of sources that can help focus the conversation. See Potential Flood Mitigation Strategies page.

The website information has been collated by Mark Russell, a North Ocean Shores resident with a background in education. He has worked for a long time to collate historical information from the community concerning the flood history in the area.
